This hole is named after the late Donald Carr - a popular former club member.

The first part of the fairway is wide and shared with the seventh but it then narrows quite sharply from the right, so the big hitters must aim well left to find the short grass.

There are no bunkers but the green is protected by a tree-lined hollow to the left and a wooded bank to the right.
