This hole takes its name from the burn that runs parrallel to it, just the wrong side of the perimeter fence. The fairway provides a wide target because although it is separated from the fourth by a narrow strip of semi rough, in real terms the two holes share the same broad area of ground.

The green is hidden from view in a hollow so the approach shot is blind, but there are no bunkers so the only trouble lies with the out of bounds fence twenty yards beyond the green.
